Tomsett's World Cup Coverage Coming Down the Stretch
The 2026 FIFA World Cup has been a whirlwind for Spencer Tomsett. The founder of NSMA's student chapter at the University of Alabama has been covering this quadrennial event all over the US for the International Sports Press Association (AIPS).
As of this writing, Tomsett is on his way to Boston to cover Thursday's quarterfinal between France and Morocco. He'll then head to Kansas City to cover Lionel Messi and Argentina's quarterfinal against Switzerland on Saturday night. After that, he'll cover the semifinals in Atlanta and Los Angeles, as well as the title match in New Jersey.
Over the last four weeks, Tomsett has:
- covered 13 matches, traveled to seven of the eleven US venues
- written seven articles for the AIPS website
- produced 14 videos for the AIPS World Cup Hotline
12 NSMA World Cup Central podcasts with current University of Alabama student chapter member Drew Williamson.
